Defensive Line

The Breakdown

The Jets defensive line remains the vital organ of the defense and some might even say the heartbeat of the entire team. They went through some changes this offseason, the most noticeable being the loss of Bryce Huff. Despite that loss, however, expectations remain very high for this group. With the additions of Javon Kinlaw and Haason Reddick, the ceiling for this group is the same if not even higher than before. The caveat being that Haason Reddick would have to actually be integrated for them to reach new heights.

The front office was also able to raise the floor of the group as well. The Jets 3 UDFA make the team. Leonard Taylor, Braiden McGregor, and Eric Watts will be providing competitive depth alongside vets like Solomon Thomas and Takk McKinley.

Will McDonald IV will be one of the more intriguing stories to watch this season. He's shown great promise as a pass rush specialist in the offseason. Can he take a big step forward in Bryce Huff's old role?

The Prediction

I'm predicting the Jets defensive line will terrorize the entire NFL. Fans and teams alike that have forgotten how dominant Quinnen Williams has been will be reminded once again. The Jets will rack up 56 sacks. Quinnen will crack double digits once again. Jermaine Johnson will also have over 10 sacks. Will McDonald will collect 7 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. The defensive line will help the Jets finish as the top defense in the NFL.
