SUMMARY

Spears is the unique ‘smaller’ running back that can handle an expansive workload. He finished 2022 with 1,581 rushing yards on 229 carries with 19 touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns.

Spears is smooth, especially when given any space to work with. His quick feet and fluid hips make it hell for defenders to break down to tackle him. He does a good job letting his blocks developing in front of him and working through tight spaces with burst. He’s extremely twitchy and capitalizes on lunging tacklers.

As a receiver, Spears consistently turned swing passes into big gains. His acceleration after the catch is explosive and he finished plays near the sideline by lowering his shoulder through defenders.

He has really good vision in pass protection. He’s limited by his size, but doesn’t miss assignments and blitzers very often.

Spears is a well rounded running back that’s extremely creative when it comes to manufacturing extra yards. He’s a scheme proof runner that has shown the ability to stay on the field in passing situations.

He lacks top end speed or workhorse size, but he’ll overcome both of those limitations to be a productive NFL running back.
