Team Needs:

Tight End

Overview

With the restructures of both Tyler Conklin and CJ Uzomah, plus former 4th rounder Jeremy Ruckert expected to take a leap, the Jets look set at tight end on paper. This is one of the deeper classes in recent history, making it interesting if Joe Douglas will still capitalize on that. A day three zone blocker with some upside as a receiver could be on the table here.

    Notre Dame - #87
    Michael Mayer Headshot

    Position: TE

    Class: Junior

    Height: 6'4 1/2"

    Weight: 249 lbs

    Overview
A versatile tight end that lines up out wide, in the slot and on the line of scrimmage, Mayer chews up the 8-15 yard area with a massive frame to shield defenders. The Jets are financially locked into both C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin while also invested

    Darnell Washington Headshot

    Position: TE

    Class: Junior

    Height: 6'6 5/8

    Weight: 264 lbs

    Overview
Washington is essentially a 6th offensive lineman at 6'7, 265+ lbs that can also run and catch. He's not a luxury the Jets can afford, but I can't wait to see what an NFL offense does with him.

    Position: TE

    Class: Senior

    Height: 6'4"

    Weight: 240 lbs

    Overview
Kincaid has some of the most reliable hands in the draft and can be a killer up the seam. My disclaimer above about the Jets tight end room remains though.

    Weight: 254 lbs

    Scheme Fit
    Overview
A small school prospect with a translatable skill set, Kraft would get more hype in a less loaded tight end class. At 6’5 and 254 pounds, he has prototypical size to live on the line of scrimmage, but experience also working as a move tight end. H...

A jack of all trades player limited by a struggling offense, LaPorta handled a variety of roles for Iowa. He finished 2022 with 53 catches (30 went for first downs), 592 yards and one touchdown. He had 6 drops and has a tendency to play with alligato...

    Height: 6'6"

    Weight: 253 lbs

    Overview
Durham is definitely not the fleetest afoot and fits more the old school model of tight ends. He's got good hands and is a solid blocker. He can clear defenders when he gets engaged. Because of his size and lack of agility, he can have some trouble s...
