Team Needs:

Offensive Line

Overview

All of the talk around the Jets upcoming draft has been centered around the offensive line. That theme sounds quite familiar, doesn't it? Offensive tackle is very much in play at 13. This could be a scenario where Duane Brown holds down left tackle for one more year and the rookie plays elsewhere in 2023.

Where things get interesting is in round two, where the depth of this center class could come in handy. Will Joe Douglas get aggressive to get a day one starter? As the roster stands, they almost need to walk out of the draft with an immediate answer.

  • Peter Skoronski

    Northwestern - #77
    Peter Skoronski Headshot

    Position: OT

    Class: Junior

    Height: 6'4"

    Weight: 313 lbs

    Overview
A prized center recruit that ended up taking over for Rashawn Slater at left tackle, Skoronski is a polished pass protector and a technician in the run game. If he fell to 13 there are no questions about his talent, just about where he would play.

    Pre-Draft Visit w/ Jets

    Overview
The former Buckeye started at both guard and tackle, but his body type and athleticism are perfect to stay on the outside. The Jets have too many question marks at left tackle this offseason, Paris Johnson would be an answer.

    Overview
Only one year as a full-time starter, Jones has premium traits for the position. He has dancing bear ability and with work on his hand placement, he could become a franchise tackle. He's in the same bucket as Paris Johnson as a favorite to go to the Jets in the first round.

    Height: 6'5 1/8"

    Weight: 333 lbs

    Overview
A heavy, powerful, battle tested right tackle that kept both Will Anderson and Bryan Bresee in check this season. Wright needs to stay on top of his weight, but coming in at 342 during Senior Bowl week was a positive step. He's a true right tackle only, a potential need for Joe Douglas.

A hulking phone booth guard that can drive block you to the tunnel, I'm not sure Torrence fits the Jets desire for an athleticism over downhill run game. It will be interesting to see how the new staff influences the direction of OL personnel.

The Jets have been in need of some long term consistency at center. Oluwatimi might not have the greatest ceiling but he has a high floor and could plug and play if need be. A good approach for the Jets would be to sign a veteran ahead of drafting an option like Oluwatimi for extra security.
