Team Needs:

Interior Defensive Line

Overview

The Jets already have one of the best defensive lineman in the NFL with Quinnen Williams but they could really use some more depth on the interior. Overall, the Jets defensive line features a heavy rotation and that operates best if they can be at least 8-deep with effective contributors. The Jets brought back Solomon Thomas and added Quinton Jefferson after the losses of Sheldon Rankins and Nathan Shepherd. However, that still leaves them with much of the same interior depth concerns they had last season if not more considering how Thomas performed. The Jets could use an injection of talent and competitive youth among this group.

    Calijah Kancey Headshot

    Position: DT

    Class: Senior

    Height: 6'1"

    Weight: 281 lbs

    Overview
Kancey might not even be 6 feet tall but he terrorized guards and centers this year. Every pass rush rep for him looks like the game is on the line. The Jets have a significant interior defensive line need, but more for a bigger bodied run stuffer in later rounds.

  • Bryan Bresee

    Clemson - #11
    Siaki Ika Headshot

    Position: DT

    Class: Junior

    Height: 6'5"

    Weight: 305 lbs

    Overview
It was an up and down year for Bresee who dealt with medical issues and family tragedy. His movement ability for a 300 pounder would be fun to watch alongside Quinnen Williams, but his range (20-35) is off for a Jets landing.

    Wisconsin - #95
    Keeanu Benton Headshot

    Position: DT

    Class: Senior

    Height: 6'4"

    Weight: 309 lbs

    Overview
Benton would fill a similar role to Ika but finished his college career (including Senior Bowl week) on a much stronger note. He doesn't carry the same mass, but is easily big enough to do the dirty work inside against guards and centers. He showed off a pass rush package that effectively utilized both a swim move and club/rip.

    Weight: 280 lbs

    Overview
Adeboware is an intriguing option as a JFM clone in Robert Saleh's defense. He has rare athleticism and would fit in well with the Jets attacking scheme. If he's hanging around on day 2, I think the Jets could be quite interested.

    Weight: 335 lbs

    Overview
By appearance (350+ pounds) and pleasantly surprising pass rush ability, Ika seems like a dream fit to insert at nose, shade nose and 3 tech for Robert Saleh. The issue is his down by down consistency dropped off this season and teams will need to tap into why.

    Overview
Karl Brooks showed plenty of promise at the Senior Bowl but after his Combine snub, there are still plenty of questions about how his game will translate at the next level. The Jets like versatile IDLs and Brooks certainly fills that role. Brooks is a bit of a dice roll, though.

Moro Ojomo is a high floor interior force. He didn't have a ton of production in 2022 with 3 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss. However, he did have a 17% pass rush win rate according to PFF and he popped enough on tape to make many interested. His perf...
